Perch & Feed values reader privacy. This page describes, in plain terms, what data we collect, what we do with it, and what choices you have.

What we collect

Things you give us directly

Email address, if you subscribe to our newsletter. We use your email to send the newsletter you signed up for and nothing else. We don’t sell it, rent it, or share it with third parties.
Comments or contact emails. If you email us at hello@perchandfeed.com or submit a comment, we keep that correspondence as long as needed to answer it.

Things we collect automatically

Standard web traffic analytics via Google Analytics 4: pages viewed, time on page, country-level location, device type, referring source. This is aggregated and not used to identify you personally.
Affiliate referral data, when you click an affiliate link. Affiliate networks (Amazon Associates, Vortex Optics, Nikon, CJ Affiliate, Pepperjam) set their own cookies when you click a link. We see that the click happened; the affiliate partner sees whether you bought something. We do not receive your name, email, payment, or address from those purchases.
Server logs, kept for 30 days for security and debugging purposes. These contain IP addresses, user agents, and request paths.

Things we don’t collect

We do not run third-party advertising trackers other than what’s necessary for affiliate-link attribution and (eventually) the display ad network we participate in.
We do not run social-media-pixel trackers (no Facebook pixel, no Twitter conversion tracking).
We do not sell or rent your data to anyone, ever.

Display ads

Once Perch & Feed qualifies for a display-ad network (Mediavine or Raptive at sufficient traffic), the ads on the site will be served by that network and may use standard advertising cookies. We will update this policy with the network’s specific privacy disclosures before display ads launch. Until then, no third-party advertising runs on this site.

Cookies

Cookies on this site fall into four categories:

Strictly necessary, keeping the site functioning. We can’t operate without these.
Analytics (Google Analytics 4), measuring how the site is used in aggregate.
Affiliate, tracking purchases from affiliate links you click. Set by the affiliate partner, not by us.
Display advertising (when applicable in the future), disclosed before they launch.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work; some affiliate links may not properly credit a purchase if you’ve disabled affiliate cookies.

Your rights

If you’re in the EU, UK, or California, you have the right to:

Know what we have on you. Email hello@perchandfeed.com and we will tell you.
Have it deleted. Email hello@perchandfeed.com and we will delete it within 30 days.
Opt out of newsletter emails. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link.
Opt out of analytics tracking. Install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Children

Perch & Feed is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we’ll update the “Last reviewed” date at the top and, for significant changes, post a notice on the homepage for 30 days.
